Harare – Cimas Health Group (CHG), a leading provider of medical aid, health, and wellness services in Zimbabwe, has unveiled a state-of-the-art mobile clinic, signifying its commitment to expanding healthcare access across the nation.

The state-of-the art mobile clinic was unveiled on Saturday during the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society Show in Harare.

Dr. Travolta Mushayamano, Head of Clinical Services at CHG, highlighted the mobile clinic’s crucial role in serving rural communities often facing challenges in reaching healthcare facilities.

“As you are aware most of our population lives in the rural areas where they struggle to access better health facilities.

“By having this mobile unit its going to be handy in improving access to these areas.

“We also have heard reports of citizens from our neighbouring countries accessing our health services here and that means through this mobile unit it can lead to medical tourism as they will flock to access it,” said Mushayamano.

CHG chief executive, Vulindela Ndlovu, echoed Mushayamano’s sentiments that the mobile clinic would provide access to marginalised rural communities.

“Using this mobile clinic will help us expand our efforts to deliver health care to less privileged societies as the mobile clinic will be used to cater for a wide range of healthcare needs, including preventive care, vaccinations, health education, and primary healthcare services,” said Ndlovu.

Ndlovu further emphasized the mobile clinic’s contribution to strengthening national healthcare delivery and achieving health-related Sustainable Development Goals like reducing child and maternal mortality rates.

CHG head of marketing, Tatenda Madzikanda, said a pilot mobile clinic in Mhondoro, was successful such that the healthcare provider was now working on a schedule to reach other rural communities.

“The pilot mobile clinic outreach was in Mhondoro and it was quite encouraging.

“We now have plans to work on a schedule which will publish for the next outreach.

“The service is available to our Cimas card-holders and the members of the public on a cash basis,” said Madzikanda.

The mobile clinic is able to provide preventive care, vaccinations, health education, and primary healthcare services including dental care.

The media tour which was led by CHG digital communications and public relations manager, Tapfumaneyi Mugari saw journalists being appraised about the various services and innovations by CHG that include a mobile kitchen to raise awareness on eating healthy.
