Harare – NetOne, Zimbabwe’s leading telecommunications provider, has partnered with Albun Fitness to host the second edition of the Albun Honde Valley Marathon.
The event, slated for November 23, 2024, aims to promote tourism, rural development, and environmental awareness in the scenic Honde Valley.
Speaking at the launch event last Thursday, NetOne’s Chief Commercial Officer, Learnmore Musunda, emphasized the company’s commitment to the marathon.
“It is with great pleasure that we, as NetOne, are proud to once again serve as the main sponsor of this remarkable Marathon, in partnership with the Albun Fitness Club and other esteemed collaborators,” said Musunda.
The inaugural marathon last year was a resounding success, drawing 356 athletes.
NetOne is keen to build upon that momentum and has announced additional prizes and giveaways for OneMoney mobile financial service subscribers, adding to the excitement and rewards for participants.
“NetOne will be enhancing the excitement and success of this event by contributing additional prizes and giveaways to the loyal OneMoney mobile financial service subscribers.
“NetOne’s goal is to ensure that everyone participating in this marathon, whether as a runner or a supporter, walks away with something special, a token of appreciation for the continued support and loyalty,” Musunda said.
Speaking at the same occasion, Albun Fitness founder Alois Bunjira that the 2024 second edition of the marathon was going to be “much bigger.”
“I am very confident that this year’s marathon is going to be much, much bigger than last year because we’ve done our homework.
“We made some mistakes last year.
“We have closed those gaps (this time around),” said Bunjira.
With renewed support from existing and new partners, the event is set to be a memorable experience for participants and spectators alike.
To enhance the weekend-long celebration, an after-party and bash will be held in Honde Valley.
