Chitungwiza- A two-year-old boy was tragically killed by his mother’s jilted lover in a violent outburst in Zengeza, Chitungwiza.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when Simbarashe Ashton Machipisa, 32, attacked the child after failing to locate his ex-partner, Nomsa Sengwe, 32.
Machipisa, known locally as “Mabhutsu,” had become enraged after Sengwe, a hairdresser, had spent the night with her new lover.
In a fit of rage, he strangled the toddler and slammed him against the wall, in the presence of five other minor children.
The terrified minors traumatized by the shocking violent incident started crying uncontrollably, drawing the attention of neighbors.
Neighbors, alerted by the children’s cries, intervened and restrained Machipisa.
He was later arrested by police and faces murder charges.
Sengwe, speaking to reporters, described Machipisa’s violent behavior and expressed her regret for their relationship.
“He was too possessive and jealous. He would undress me in front of my children and demand to check my private parts,” she said.
“He once assaulted me while I was naked, accusing me of cheating.”
Following the incident, Sengwe has sought a peace order against Machipisa.
“Simbarashe (Machipisa) started to stalk my new lover, who informed me about it.
“I decided to spend the night with my new lover at his house. That is when Simbarashe came home early in the morning and found my children alone and killed my son,” said a heartbroken Sengwe.
“How could I continue living with a violent person

“He has killed my beloved son, I don’t know why he has chosen to spill innocent blood,” added Sengwe in tears.
Machipisa was taken to St Mary’s Police Station where he was detained.
