HARARE — Castle Lager Zimbabwe is turning up the heat at this year’s braai celebrations with the launch of Braai O’Clock, a brand-new concept that will put braai fans’ grilling skills to the test in a one-hour showdown of fire, food and friendly rivalry.
Braai O’Clock will make its debut at the Castle Lager Braai Day Festival at Glamis Arena on Saturday, October 17, from 3pm to 4pm, as organisers look to turn the traditional gathering around the fire into a headline attraction.
The highlight will be an ultimate braai master contest, with interactive challenges, Castle Lager merchandise and other prizes up for grabs.
Braai O’Clock will get festivalgoers off the sidelines and into the action, turning the age-old tradition of cooking over an open fire into a lively showdown of grilling skills and friendly rivalry.
A beloved fixture of Zimbabwean social life, braai culture brings friends and families together over sizzling meat, glowing coals and good conversation.
More than 10 local artists and DJs are expected to perform throughout the day, with Winky D, Ex Q and Enzo Ishall among the headline acts.
Emerging performers Jnr Spragga, Atenda Chinx and DJ Liz are also on the line-up.
The festival’s build-up will extend beyond Glamis Arena, with nationwide trade activations planned at popular braai venues.
Consumers will have opportunities to win event tickets, chilled Castle Lager and other prizes through the promotions.
Tickets are available through SahwiGate at www.sahwigate.com, with a limited allocation of early-bird tickets priced at US$10 before the standard price rises to US$15.
Each ticket includes admission to the festival, a braai pack and one litre of Castle Lager Draught.
With the introduction of Braai O’Clock, this year’s festival will combine live music with an interactive celebration of one of Zimbabwe’s most cherished social traditions.
