HARARE — Merrymakers and party-goers are gearing up for another feast of meat, music and ice-cold lager as the countdown to Castle Lager National Braai Day begins.
Castle Lager National Braai Day returns to Glamis Arena in Harare on Saturday, October 17, with festivities running from 11am until late.
Thousands of revellers turned out for last year’s 10th anniversary celebration, marking a decade of Zimbabwean braai culture with food, music and entertainment.
The milestone event also featured a 10-city micro-braai tour, major hospital bed donations and performances from big names including Winky D, Ammara Brown and DJ Tira.
Organisers are now preparing for another edition, with food, music and entertainment expected to draw crowds to the Harare venue.
Early Bird tickets have been pegged at US$10, with revellers able to buy them online through SahwiGate or by dialling *584#.
Empty cooler boxes will be allowed into the venue, while free ice will be provided on site to keep drinks chilled.
Large braai areas are expected to serve a variety of meats, alongside performances by leading artists and DJs.
Organisers say the event will retain the lively atmosphere associated with the annual celebration, whose slogan is: “It all comes together with a Castle.”
Entry is strictly for those aged 18 and above, with the event set to combine food, music and entertainment at Glamis Arena.
“Merrymakers and party-goers” is the more natural journalistic construction; “merry-goers” would sound awkward in a news story.
