HARARE — Hip-hop artist Holy Ten was granted US$500 bail on Wednesday after appearing before magistrate Jesse Kufa at the Harare Magistrates Court, facing allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.

The 27-year-old musician, whose real name is Mukudzei Modecay Chitsama, arrived at court in handcuffs.

He was represented by lawyer Admire Rubaya.

The State did not oppose bail.

Prosecutor Lawrence Gangarahwe told the court that investigations are still ongoing.

“We are waiting for a forensic examination report and documents that prove the age of the complainant,” Gangarahwe said.

Magistrate Kufa granted bail subject to conditions.

Holy Ten must surrender his passport, remain at his given address, not interfere with State witnesses, and report to a designated police station every Friday.

The matter was remanded to August 7.

Holy Ten was arrested early Tuesday morning after a 14-year-old girl accused him of raping her in his Hatfield home.
