Harare – Outspoken preacher Apostle Talent Chiwenga has launched a scathing attack on fellow clergyman Prophet Ian Ndlovu, accusing him of compromising his spiritual credibility by accepting lavish gifts from controversial businessman-cum-tenderprenuer Wicknell Chivayo.
Chiwenga dismissed Ndlovu’s theological justification for receiving the donations, referencing John Chapter 3, which states that a man can only receive what is given from above.
He argued that the luxury vehicles and substantial cash gifts were not divine blessings but politically charged offerings linked to Zanu-PF.
“Ian Ndlovu is now Wicknell Chivayo’s sidechick,” Chiwenga declared.
“You can’t quote scripture and claim it’s from God when the giver himself says it’s from Zanu-PF.
“That car is not from above. It’s from a political agenda,” added Chiwenga.
Chiwenga went on cite the scripture Micah 3:11, which condemns accepting bribes for prophecy, suggesting that such actions violate biblical principles.
The controversy centers around Chivayo’s recent donations to Prophet Ndlovu and his wife, which include a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series VXR, a 2025 Toyota Fortuner 2.8D GD6, and cash totaling US$150,000.

Chivayo has openly stated that the gifts are tied to Zanu-PF, raising concerns about the church’s independence and the politicization of the pulpit.
The incident has ignited widespread theological and public debate, with many questioning the ethical boundaries between faith, wealth, and political influence.
