Bogus UK Visa agent arrested for forging documents

Harare – A Harare woman accused of masquerading as a visa agent is in hot water after allegedly attempting to submit forged documents to the United Kingdom Home Office.

The suspect, identified as Takudzwanashe Irene Nyambuya, was approached by a UK-based woman seeking assistance in processing visas for her two children residing in Gweru. 

Nyambuya reportedly charged US$750 for biometric and tuberculosis (TB) tests, delivering at the initial stage to gain the victim’s trust.

“My sister was reffered to Taku by a mutual friend and she claimed that she used to work for FedEx and is now a visa and CSO agent.

“She was given money amounting to US$750 excluding her own charges and she indeed delivered the TB and biometric tests.

“She however became evasive and when my sister was asked to provide additional information by the Home Office.

“She would switch her phone on and off until such a time that the Home Office noted that she had submitted fake documents and we had no option than to take the legal route,”narrated the victim ‘s sister.

The case was reported at Harare Central Police Station under CR1352/10/24 and referred to the Commercial Crimes Division. 

Nyambuya has since appeared in court, with her trial date set for December 2.
