Harare – The Zimbabwe Builders Constructors Association (ZCBA) has outlined an ambitious agenda for its inaugural regional summit, scheduled to take place in Victoria Falls from November 27th to 29th.
ZCBA CEO, Joyline Zindanga, highlighted the summit’s primary focus: maximizing the potential of public-private partnerships (PPPs) within the construction sector.
“At the summit we hope we are going to come up with strategic solutions which will help in the sector , for instance triple Ps (Private Public Partnerships), what they are and how best we can use them to develop the construction industry.
“We want to tap knowledge from delegates coming, how they make use of these public private partnerships in their countries.
“There is a lot of technology which is now being used in the construction industry , so we want to help each other to understand it and also what we can take and develop ourselves,” said Zindaga.
The summit, themed “Leveraging Investment in Infrastructure as a Catalyst for Economic Growth,” is expected to attract over 50 key players from the construction industry.
In addition to PPPs, the event will address pressing economic challenges faced by contractors in the region.
“We want to talk about the challenges and the solutions that we can come up with as the southern region.
“Challenges are everywhere not only in the construction sector but in the country and region at large.
“What we are simply going to do is to come up with proper practical solutions,” Zindaga added.
