Bulawayo – Highlanders Football Club chief executive officer, Sihlangu Dlodlo, was tragically found dead at his Bulawayo home on Monday.
He was 60 years old.
Dlodlo was last seen alive on Saturday.
Concerns grew when he failed to respond to calls and messages, prompting friends and family to visit his Nketa 9 residence.
After gaining entry, they discovered his lifeless body through a window.
In a chilling Facebook post on October 16, Dlodlo alluded to his own demise, suggesting a possible intentional act.
The post, now viewed as a potential suicide note, detailed a morbid scenario of dying alone and being discovered days later.
“A nice way to end the drama and nonsense that happens at funerals is to die alone at home and rot for a week or so until the neighbours see green flies by the windows; and the police arrive to recover your remains in a zinc coffin and open truck and take you, hopefully to Kings and Queens.
“That way there will be no body viewing. It’s straight to Luveve Cemetery.
“By the way, please don’t bring flowers sweethearts,” wrote Dlodlo.
Prior to his role at Highlanders, Dlodlo held senior positions at prominent companies like Innscor and Lobels.
He was also the general manager of Kings and Queens Funeral Services.
Dlodlo’s untimely passing has left a void in the football community and beyond.
He was known for his affable nature and his dedication to uplifting others.
Dlodlo is survived by his wife and children who reside in the United Kingdom.
