Donald Trump reported safe following gunshots in his vicinity

New York, USA – Former US president Donald Trump is reported to be “safe” after gunshots were fired in his vicinity on Sunday, according to his campaign team.

“President Trump is safe,” his campaign communications director, Steven Cheung, said, adding there were “…no further details at this time.”

The FBI said: “is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump.”

This incident follows an earlier attack nearly two months ago, when a gunman tried to assassinate Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, hitting him in the ear.

Donald Trump Jr. confirmed that shots were fired at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, and that a firearm was discovered at the scene.

“An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement.

“A suspect has reportedly been apprehended,” he said.
